Remote Customer Service Assistant

Job Summary

This is a work-from-home role focused on helping customers sort out order and account issues over chat, email, and sometimes the phone. You’ll log into our system each shift, work through whatever’s in the queue, and keep moving without letting one tough conversation hold up the rest. Some days are steady. Some days everything seems to need attention at once, usually right after a shipping delay or a site glitch. You’ll need a reliable connection and a space where you can actually focus, since half the job is just being reachable when customers need you. Notes go into the CRM after every interaction so the next shift isn’t guessing what already happened. We run occasional check-ins over video, so you’re not entirely on your own out there. Growth opportunities exist for people who stick with it and learn the product well.

Responsibilities

• Handling chat and email tickets throughout your shift
• Look up account and order details to resolve customer questions
• Taking phone calls when chat volume allows for it
• Walking a customer through a return, step by step, even when they’re annoyed about the wait
• Flagging billing discrepancies to a supervisor instead of guessing
• Updating shipping addresses and contact info on request
• Keeping the ticket log detailed enough for a teammate to pick up cold
• Basic password reset and login troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Working remotely means managing your own time, and that comes easier if you’re naturally organized about your day.
• You write in a way that’s easy to follow, since nearly every customer interaction happens in text.
• When multiple tickets land at once, you generally sort out what needs attention first without getting stuck.
• Comfortable with a CRM, spreadsheets, and a handful of tabs open without losing track of any of them.
• A customer having a bad day shouldn’t throw off your tone, and staying steady through that is part of the job.
• You’re reachable and responsive during your shift, which carries extra weight when nobody’s physically checking on you.
• Respecting teammates in a chat-based team means actually responding when someone asks for help.
• Open to learning new tools as they roll out, since remote teams tend to update processes often.
• Reliable attendance matters, since one missed shift in a remote setup is felt by the whole team.

Pay: $24.41 - $29.40 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 – 76.0 per week
