What position are we hiring for (and what will they do)?
We are looking for a Salesforce Software Engineer III to work alongside a talented team of engineers and product managers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of CTM’s technical solutions.
As a Salesforce Software Engineer III, you should continue to develop your technical skills and expertise while taking greater ownership of projects that span multiple components, services, or teams. You should bring a passion for building high-quality software, solving complex problems, and finding simple solutions to challenging technical and product needs. You should also be able to adapt to changing priorities, technologies, and challenges while helping others navigate them as well.
In this role, you will be expected to own projects from planning through launch, identify and communicate risks and dependencies, collaborate with teammates and stakeholders, contribute to technical decisions, and help raise the quality of both our code and development practices.
As a successful Salesforce Software Engineer III, you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of moderately complex projects spanning multiple components or services
- Write clear, maintainable, and testable code while considering reliability, security, performance, and scalability
- Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce solutions, including custom functionality, integrations, and platform enhancements that support business needs
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and internal or third-party systems, ensuring reliable data exchange and consistent behavior across services
- Apply Salesforce development best practices to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable solutions, including appropriate use of platform capabilities and limits
- Develop testing approaches that account for integration points, failure scenarios, and safe releases
- Use systematic debugging to diagnose cross-service issues and drive them through resolution
- Troubleshoot complex Salesforce issues across custom code, integrations, data, and platform behavior, identifying root causes and implementing lasting fixes
- Own projects from planning through implementation, launch, and follow-up
- Break complex work into clear milestones, identify dependencies, and manage risks and blockers
- Coordinate with Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive work forward
- Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, project status, and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and project planning
- Mentor less-experienced engineers through pairing, code reviews, planning, and feedback.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and improvements to engineering practices and processes.
- Take accountability for project outcomes while balancing delivery, reliability, security, maintainability, and customer impact.
