Lead Wedding Designer

Cobb & Smith is the newest floral atelier in the heart of the Finger Lakes. We are rebranding a well established flower shop and reimagining what weddings and events can be in the Finger Lakes and Western NY.

We are building something fresh — elevated design, intentional client experience, and events that truly level up floristry in this region. We are looking for a Lead Wedding & Event Designer to be a foundational part of that vision and help define what Cobb & Smith will become.

Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person (options to work from home as needed and practical)

Location: Geneva, NY – must work on-site and on-location at venues

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday with flexibility for consultations and weekend weddings during peak season

The Role

This is a creative leadership role for a wedding florist who wants more than just a design job — you want to build a program. You will own our wedding and event department from first inquiry to final installation.

What You’ll Do

• Lead our wedding & event program start to finish: inquiry, consultation, proposal, design, production, and on-site execution
• Be the face of Cobb & Smith weddings — conduct consultations that convert and build trust with couples
• Design and price elevated, on-brand weddings that push creative boundaries while remaining profitable
• Create detailed recipes, orders, and production plans for the studio team
• Lead, train, and inspire the event team on prep and install days
• Build and nurture strong referral relationships with the best venues, planners, photographers, and creatives in the Finger Lakes & Western NY
• Create and streamline systems for CRM, proposals, client communication, and event execution

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years as a lead wedding / event florist – required
• Proven experience booking and executing weddings start to finish on your own
• Strong, curated portfolio of wedding and event work – required
• Confident in sales, pricing, and guiding clients to their dream wedding/event
• Highly organized, calm under pressure, and excellent at managing timelines
• Natural leader who can direct a team on fast-paced install days
• Deep knowledge of ordering, cost awareness , and seasonal product
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for installs

Bonus Points

• Established relationships with venues and planners in Finger Lakes, Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo
• Experience with HoneyBook, Curate, Studio Designer, or similar CRM
• Experience with large-scale, luxury installations
