Role Overview
Rockwoods is seeking Mid-level and Senior SAP S/4HANA ABAP Developers to support a large government S/4HANA Greenfield implementation. Developers will participate in the full application lifecycle (design, development, testing, and deployment), translating business requirements into technical specifications and delivering maintainable ABAP solutions. Senior developers may also lead peers, enforce best practices, and conduct code reviews. The role operates in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment and requires strong technical skills, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement ABAP solutions aligned with functional requirements.
• Work with S/4HANA CDS Views and integrate backend SAP/non-SAP applications.
• Implement and maintain ABAP objects: Reports, RFCs, Forms, OOP ABAP, BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, and Customer Exits.
• Perform data conversions (BDC, LSMW, IDocs, ALE, Workflows).
• Collaborate on system integration using web services, proxies, and APIs.
• Conduct debugging, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior developers (Senior role).

Required Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check.
• Senior: 6+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Mid-level: 3–5 years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong knowledge of ABAP development and HANA CDS Views.
• Proficiency in system integration (web services, APIs, proxies).
• Expertise across ABAP technologies (Reports, RFCs, Forms, OOP ABAP, BAPIs, Enhancements, BADIs, Exits, Data Conversions).
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Certifications in SAP Application Development or Agile methodologies.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
