Job description
We are looking for a dedicated animal welfare professional to join our dog team.
We care for some of the area’s most neglected and damaged dogs so we need someone with significant professional experience.
You must be passionate about animal welfare, hard working, a team player and ideally with at least a level three qualification in animal care as well as handling experience, ideally with shelter dogs.
We are particularly looking for candidates who have an affinity with large breeds although we do provide extensive training.
This is a three day a week contract worked in shifts that include regular weekend working.
Branch description
RSPCA Brighton Branch rescues, rehomes and rehabilitates unwanted, abandoned and neglected dogs, cats, rabbits, small furries, birds and reptiles..
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers at our Animal Centre in Patcham are passionate about animal welfare and doing everything we can to help the area’s neediest animals.
We care for around 1000 animals, birds and reptiles each year at the shelter, run a subsidised neutering scheme and work to help pets in the community.
As a separately registered Branch of the RSPCA we are responsible for raising our own funds to deliver animal welfare across our Branch area which stretches from Worthing to Camber Sands and up to Crawley.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Significant animal care and handling experience (other than your own pets)
- 5 x GCSES or equivalent
- Desirable Level 3 or above in animal care
- Working with members of the public in a customer service environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A strong team player with the ability to multi task.
- A full UK driving license
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.91 per hour
