Job Description

About the Company

Runtime is partnering with a fast-growing AI developer tools company that helps engineering teams improve how they build, test, and review software. The company develops AI-powered technology for software development teams and works with enterprise engineering organizations worldwide.

Its product supports deployments across cloud and on-premise environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As demand from enterprise customers across the United States continues to grow, the company is expanding its technical team to support deployments and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.

About the Role

The company is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of customer installations, deployments, and infrastructure support across the United States. This hands-on role combines cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation, troubleshooting, and direct engagement with enterprise customers.

Approximately 30% of the role involves customer-facing responsibilities, including diagnosing technical issues, supporting deployments, and resolving infrastructure-related tickets. You will also improve existing infrastructure and automate processes that are currently handled manually.

The position is suited to an experienced DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Deployment Engineer who can solve complex problems independently and take responsibility for reliable deployments across different customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own customer installations and software deployments across cloud and on-premise environments.

• Work directly with enterprise customers to diagnose and resolve deployment, infrastructure, and connectivity issues.

• Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based environments.

• Use Terraform and Helm to manage infrastructure and deployment configurations.

• Support deployments across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Investigate logs, errors, and system behavior to identify root causes and resolve complex technical problems.

• Handle infrastructure-related customer tickets and resolve deployment challenges.

• Improve existing infrastructure and automate manual processes to increase efficiency and consistency.

• Troubleshoot networking issues, including firewall configuration and connectivity.

• Work independently to learn new technologies, resolve problems, and manage customer requirements.

• Travel occasionally to enterprise customer locations when required.

Required Qualifications

• Approximately 5–7+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, deployment engineering, or a related technical field.

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.

• Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform and Helm.

• Experience deploying and supporting software in customer cloud or on-premise environments.

• Solid understanding of infrastructure and networking, including firewalls and connectivity.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, including the ability to identify root causes from logs and error messages.

• Ability to work autonomously, learn quickly, and take ownership of technical issues through resolution.

• Comfort working directly with enterprise customers in a technical support and deployment capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working across multiple cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Familiarity with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and observability.

• A software development background before transitioning into DevOps.

• Previous experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Deployment Engineer.

Working Environment and Interview Process

• Remote position within the United States, with East Coast or Central Time candidates preferred.

• Approximately 30% customer-facing responsibilities.

• Occasional travel to enterprise customers.

• A highly autonomous engineering environment supported by a technically experienced leadership team.

• No coding assessment is required as part of the interview process.
