About us

Visual Impact runs a digital signage advertising network in malls and local venues across the Montreal area. Local businesses use our screens to get their brand in front of shoppers every day.

We are now building Envision-Ad, a self-serve platform where businesses can book screens, upload their ads and track their campaigns in a few clicks, with no back-and-forth emails.

The role

As a Full-Stack Developer Intern, you will help build Envision-Ad, working on both the Spring Boot back end and the Next.js front end of a product used by real advertisers.

• Position: Full-Stack Developer Intern
• Term: Winter 2027 (March 2027- May 2027)
• Location: Fully Remote
• Stack: Java, Spring Boot, Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL
• Compensation: unpaid

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain REST APIs in Java / Spring Boot (bookings, campaigns, screens, accounts)
• Develop user-facing pages and components in Next.js and TypeScript
• Design and query the PostgreSQL database behind the platform
• Work with Git and GitHub: branches, pull requests and code reviews
• Help connect the platform to our screen network and its content management system
• Test, debug and ship features that go to production

Must-have skills

• Object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Java and Spring Boot
• REST APIs: designing, building and consuming them
• Git and GitHub

Nice-to-have skills

• React and Next.js
• TypeScript / JavaScript
• SQL and PostgreSQL
• Docker

Who can apply

DEC (cégep) university students are all welcome. We’re looking for students in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related program who are curious, love building things and want real hands-on experience.

English and French are both welcome.
