Job Description

*Full-time Weekend availability essential*

Are you a natural host with an eye for detail, a calm head, and a genuine care for creating great guest experiences? Do you love being at the heart of a small, creative team where no two days are the same? If so, we’d love you to join us as House Manager at Artist Residence London

At Artist Residence, we like to think of ourselves as more than just a hotel – we’re a home-from-home for travellers and locals alike. Our 10-bedroom townhouse combines relaxed charm with creative flair, and we’re looking for someone who can help us keep everything running smoothly – from a warm guest welcome to an immaculate room check.

What’s the Role?

This is a hands-on, guest-focused role that bridges the worlds of hotel and F&B. You’ll be the heartbeat of the daily operation – organised, reliable and always one step ahead. You’ll be:

  • Taking ownership of daily hotel operations – from check-ins and room checks to ensuring everything is spotless and running smoothly
  • Leading morning service operations, ensuring efficient opening procedures and consistent service standards
  • Overseeing breakfast and daytime café service, coordinating the team and maintaining a high-quality guest experience
  • Hosting guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, creating that easy-going AR atmosphere
  • Supporting food & beverage service where needed, including maintaining strong coffee standards
  • Managing daily checklists, timesheets and ensuring all tasks are followed through with care and precision
  • Handling basic admin tasks such as cash ups, reports, reservations, and diary management
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and maintenance across the property
  • Leading by example – calm, conscientious, and always bringing a sense of care and pride

What We’re Looking For:

We’re after someone who blends warmth with structure – a true people person who’s also naturally organised and reliable.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role within a café, boutique hotel, or daytime hospitality environment
  • Proven ability to lead high-volume morning or daytime service while maintaining quality and guest satisfaction
  • Barista experience required, with confidence in maintaining coffee quality and supporting junior team training
  • A strong background in boutique hotels or guest-focused hospitality
  • Calm, professional and efficient with great attention to detail
  • Hands-on, proactive and proud to take ownership of their work
  • Confident using booking systems and tech (training provided)
  • Presentable and personable, with a natural sense of hospitality
  • Flexible to cover a variety of shifts, but primarily daytime focused
  • Weekend availability essential

Why Join Us?

At Artist Residence, you’ll join a small, passionate team in a creative, independent environment where individuality is celebrated.

  • Competitive salary and share of tips
  • Staff meals & discounts across all Artist Residence sites
  • Opportunities to grow within an expanding, family-run group
  • A supportive team that values care, reliability and personality

If you’re someone who takes pride in doing things properly, loves hosting guests, and finds satisfaction in a well-run day – this could be the perfect role for you.
