You’ll be the senior point of contact for a portfolio of clients, working with delivery teams, project managers, and solution leads to turn client goals into results. This role blends relationship management, operational oversight, and team leadership to keep Carnegie’s biggest partnerships running smoothly and growing over time.

What You’ll Own

  • Client Relationship Management

  • Build deep knowledge of each client’s goals, audience, competitors, and market position to guide delivery.
  • Serve as the main strategic contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients, building long-term partnerships at the senior level.
  • Turn client needs into clear plans, and lead status updates, performance reviews, and planning sessions using data to guide decisions.
  • Partner with Account Directors and Portfolio Leaders to grow accounts, renew contracts, and expand business.

  • Delivery & Operations

  • Lead across complex, cross-functional client portfolios, coordinating delivery teams, project managers, and solution leads to hit strategic goals.
  • Turn client priorities into clear roadmaps, and review creative and strategic deliverables for accuracy, brand alignment, and consistency with client strategy.
  • Plan timelines, budgets, and milestones with solution PMs, and track performance data to catch risks early and improve efficiency.
  • Run strategy sessions, approval checkpoints, and retrospectives, streamline workflows, and guide teams through ambiguity and change.

  • Risk & Escalation

  • Spot project, relationship, and operational risks early and address them before they escalate.
  • Lead the response to complex client and operational issues, looping in leadership when needed.
  • Watch for strain in key relationships and step in to keep internal and external partnerships strong.
  • Flag revenue, budget, or timeline risks to divisional leaders and project teams, and keep everyone focused on the highest-impact work.

  • Leadership & Team Development

  • Coach and develop your team, giving feedback and growth opportunities that build their skills and performance.
  • Help shape Project Lead training programs and identify where the team needs to build skills.
  • Weigh in on team capacity planning and resourcing, and support hiring and onboarding for Project Leads.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and help document best practices across portfolio teams.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10-12 years in higher ed, marketing, or agency work, with a track record of taking on more responsibility over time
  • At least 4 years coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-workstream client relationships
  • PMP, Agile, or a similar project management certification preferred
  • Strong writer and communicator across email, calls, presentations, and in-person conversations
  • Skilled with project management tools like Google Suite and Asana, including advanced Google Sheets and Slides
  • Solid grasp of integrated marketing — how brand and multi-channel campaigns work together to hit client goals
  • Track record running multiple project teams at once, staying on top of details, making timely calls, and juggling competing priorities
  • Open to using AI tools and learning how they can improve the client experience
  • Strong relationship-builder who connects easily with different people and roles
  • Comfortable leading through change and ambiguity, and always looking to improve how things run
  • High integrity, emotional intelligence, and self-motivation
  • Since this is a remote role: strong communication and time management skills, and comfort switching between multiple tech platforms
  • Able to work at a computer for extended periods
