Junior Software Engineer / Junior Software Architect – C# / .NET

📍 Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer / Junior Software Architect to join a newly established team within an international company, developing software for certified life-safety and fire detection systems.

Working alongside an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Architect, you will contribute to software development, architecture and security while gaining valuable experience building a new software platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain desktop applications using C# / modern .NET .
• Support the Senior Engineer in implementing software architecture, data models and application components.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and software improvements.
• Develop secure software features, including authentication, certificates and secure communications.
• Write clean, maintainable code and develop automated tests.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise software performance.
• Support software verification, testing and documentation for product certification.
• Collaborate with product, hardware and external engineering teams.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C# / .NET .
• Windows desktop application development experience; WPF highly desirable.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Familiarity with Git, debugging and automated testing .
• Basic knowledge of databases, APIs and software integration.
• Interest in software architecture, security and high-integrity applications.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while learning from senior engineers.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

Advantageous Experience

• WPF, MVVM or Windows desktop frameworks.
• TLS, certificates, PKI or secure communications.
• Embedded hardware or industrial communication protocols.
• Safety-critical, regulated or high-reliability software.
• Software verification, deployment or technical documentation.

Language Requirements

English and Simplified Chinese proficiency required for collaboration with engineering partners in China.

✈️ Travel: Approximately 10%.
