Senior Data Database Admin SQL Server & Azure

Location: Hyderabad

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, Azure cloud, SQL/T-SQL development, Python scripting, automation, and production platform support.

The ideal candidate should have a combination of database administration and platform engineering experience, including database upgrades, migrations, performance optimization, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and support SQL Server database environments.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries and T-SQL scripts.
  • Perform SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and cloud modernization activities.
  • Develop Python scripts to automate database administration and operational tasks.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, database performance issues, and platform failures.
  • Support database security, access management, monitoring, and platform reliability.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps activities.
  • Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, DevOps, and data engineering teams.
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server Administration.
  • Excellent SQL and T-SQL development skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation.
  • Experience in production database support and incident troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and deployment automation.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and containerized environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in cloud and platform engineering.
  • Knowledge of database replication, integration, and migration tools.
  • Exposure to other database technologies or cloud data platforms.
