About EcoScent
EcoScent is a growing scent marketing and fragrance company working with leading businesses across hospitality, retail, property, healthcare, leisure and commercial environments.
We provide scent marketing systems, fragrance solutions and branded products to clients across the UK and internationally, supported by our warehouse, operations and engineering teams.
As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day management of our warehouse operations, stock, team and fulfilment.
The Role
This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys being actively involved in warehouse operations while also taking responsibility for people, processes and standards.
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you will help ensure our main HQ warehouse and nearby storage facility operate efficiently, safely and accurately.
You will support the warehouse team with daily priorities, picking, packing, dispatch, goods in/out, stock control and general warehouse organisation. You will also help ensure customer orders and engineer requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Importantly, we’re looking for someone who can step up and take ownership when required. In the Warehouse Manager’s absence, you should be confident helping lead the day-to-day operation, setting priorities, resolving issues and ensuring standards are maintained.
This role requires someone approachable and supportive who can work well with the team, but who is equally comfortable addressing poor standards, missed actions or performance issues when necessary.
You’ll work closely with Operations and, alongside the Lead Engineer Supervisor, help coordinate warehouse requirements with equipment preparation, installations and field service activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day running of warehouse operations across both locations.
- Help plan daily priorities and allocate work across the warehouse team.
- Step up to support operational leadership and continuity in the Warehouse Manager’s absence.
- Maintain consistently high standards of warehouse organisation, presentation and cleanliness.
- Support accurate and efficient picking, packing and dispatch of customer orders.
- Ensure products are correctly selected, checked, packaged and presented before dispatch.
- Support goods-in, goods-out, deliveries, collections and logistics coordination.
- Maintain accurate stock records and support regular stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Identify stock shortages, discrepancies and potential supply issues and escalate these proactively.
- Ensure warehouse and stock-management systems are kept accurate and up to date.
- Support the supervision, training and development of warehouse team members.
- Help establish and monitor team KPIs, productivity and performance standards.
- Address operational issues promptly and support appropriate performance management where required.
- Ensure agreed warehouse procedures and quality-control processes are consistently followed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and warehouse processes.
- Support equipment preparation and readiness for customer installations and engineer requirements.
- Work with the Lead Engineer Supervisor to coordinate warehouse and field-service requirements.
- Maintain appropriate Health & Safety standards across both warehouse facilities.
- Proactively communicate delays, stock issues, errors or other risks to the appropriate team rather than waiting for them to be discovered.
- Help investigate warehouse errors and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
What We’re Looking For
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within warehouse operations, fulfilment, logistics or stock control.
- Previous supervisory, team leader or assistant management experience within a warehouse environment.
- Experience supporting or managing a warehouse team and allocating daily workloads.
- Good knowledge of stock control and inventory-management processes.
- Strong organisational and prioritisatio…
