Job Description
A creative services agency is looking for a safe pair of hands freelance Motion Graphics Designer to execute motion work across a batch of overflow video projects.
This is a 3 to 4-week engagement to help the agency’s motion team get through five explainer videos and two sizzles sitting on top of their day to day output. You’ll work under one of their senior motion designers, who sets the look, feel and setup, with you executing the motion across the project. Think UX / graphic-style explainer motion, in the vein of Adam Cant’s work: clean, polished, considered.
Role: Freelance Motion Graphics Designer
Rate: Around £150-£200 per day, outside IR35
Location: UK, Fully remote
What you’ll be doing:
- Execute motion work across five explainer videos and two sizzle videos
- Work under a senior motion designer who handles setup, style and overall direction
- Deliver clean, polished UX and graphic-style motion aligned to the gold standard set by the lead
- Pick up the executional load so the senior can focus on direction and setup
- Hit timelines reliably across a 3 to 4 week window, with possible extension
What you’ll need:
- Proven freelance motion graphics experience, ideally agency-side
- Strong After Effects craft with a portfolio of UX and graphic-style explainer work
- Comfortable executing against someone else’s direction and style setup without needing to put your own stamp on it
- Reliable, methodical and happy taking a lead’s cues from day one
- Available from roughly w/c 19 October for 3 to 4 weeks, with flexibility to extend
- Outside IR35 setup
Nice to have:
- Work in a style comparable to Adam Cant’s explainer/UX motion craft
- Experience across brand or product explainer campaigns
- Comfortable moving between explainer and sizzle formats
This role would suit a freelance motion designer who takes pride in clean execution under a strong lead and wants a focused 3 to 4 week overflow engagement with real scope to extend.
