About the Role:

• You will be working on Lumeria’s digital user experience, including the design and front-end implementation of our app, with a focus on making advanced skin imaging feel simple, intuitive, and approachable for the everyday consumer.
• You will be mostly working hands on, speaking with customers, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities where we can improve.
• You’ll work closely with our founders and engineers to improve the Lumeria experience.
• Experiment with illustrations, graphics, interactions, and other creative details that make the Lumeria experience feel more human, intuitive, and memorable.
• Find creative ways to make complex skin data and technology feel simple and approachable for an everyday consumer.

What You Will Do:

• Design and continuously improve the UI/UX of the Lumeria app.
• Speak with customers to understand their pain points and needs, as well as gather their feedback.
• Translate customer needs into actionable design improvements.
• Test and iterate on designs based on user feedback and internal feedback.
• Take ownership of projects from initial problems through design and implementation.
• Bring a strong creative and artistic eye to the Lumeria experience, beyond traditional UI/UX design.
• Create original visual elements and illustrations hands-on, whether digitally on an iPad/tablet or through physical sketching and drawing.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

• 1+ year of experience in UI/UX, product design, front-end development, or a related role.
• Strong visual design skills and a genuine passion for UI/UX.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Ability to take a design from initial concepts and ideas through implementation.
• Comfortable speaking and communicating with customers, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and translate feedback from customers and team members into design improvements.
• Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience implementing your own designs on the front end.
• Strong artistic ability, including illustration, sketching, or creating original visual assets digitally or by hand.
• Experience creating illustrations and other visual elements.
• An interest in experimenting beyond traditional UI/UX, including illustration, graphics, motion, and creative interactions.

Pay: $86,300.00 - $104,000.00 per year
