Job Summary:

Designs and optimizes Snowflake data pipelines, data models, and platform performance. Owns warehouse design standards, cost optimization, and secure data delivery patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Snowflake schemas, data models, and ELT pipeline architectures.
• Develop and tune complex SQL, stored procedures, streams, tasks, and dynamic tables.
• Optimize warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and credit consumption.
• Implement data security controls including role hierarchies, masking policies, and row access policies.
• Integrate Snowflake with upstream sources and downstream analytics and BI consumers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Two (2) years of specialized experience may substitute for one (1) year of the academic requirement.
• Minimum Experience: Five (5) to eight (8) years of data engineering experience, including at least three (3) years of hands-on Snowflake delivery.
• Certifications — Required: SnowPro Core Certification.
• Certifications — Obtainable After Hire: SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer, within 180 days of assignment.
• Certifications — Preferred: SnowPro Advanced: Architect; dbt Analytics Engineering Certification; AWS or Azure data certification.
• Required Skills: Snowflake platform engineering; advanced SQL; dimensional and analytical data modeling; ELT and ETL design; performance and cost optimization; data security controls.
• Preferred Skills: dbt; Python; cloud data platform integration; data governance frameworks.

Technical Environment

Snowflake virtual warehouses, streams, tasks, dynamic tables, and Snowpark; advanced SQL and stored procedures; dbt; Python; Apache Airflow; Fivetran or Matillion ingestion; Amazon S3 and Azure Data Lake Storage; Snowflake RBAC, dynamic data masking, and row access policies; Time Travel and zero-copy cloning; Terraform for platform provisioning.
