Assistant Manager - Luxury Fragrance Retail

Gissah is a prestigious luxury fragrance house, renowned for storytelling through scent and its Arabian perfumery. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Retail Sales Manager to join our team and assist the Store Manager at our landmark location on Oxford Street, London. This role involves supporting the store’s daily operations, enhancing customer experience, and driving sales through effective team leadership and merchandising. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for retail excellence. Bilingual proficiency in English, Arabic or French is highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base. Responsibilities

• Assist the Retail Sales Manager in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring sales targets are met
• Lead and motivate the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service and maximise sales opportunities
• Support merchandising efforts by maintaining attractive product displays and ensuring stock levels are optimised
• Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
• Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase revenue
• Assist with staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the store environment
• Assist in training new staff members on sales techniques, product knowledge, and company policies
• Step into full management responsibility when the Store Manager is absent

About You

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in luxury or high-end retail (supervisory experience preferred)
• Multilingual ability, particularly fluency in English, Arabic or French, is highly advantageous
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent phone etiquette
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions, stock counts, and sales reports
• Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
• Experience in upselling techniques to maximise sales opportunities
• Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing product displays
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating strong, hands-on leadership qualities
• Passion for luxury retail, fragrance and brand storytelling
