Job Description
Role Description The Altium PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards using Altium Designer, with a focus on high-quality, manufacturable layouts. Day-to-day tasks include creating schematics, performing board layout for analog and RF circuits, defining stack-ups, placing components, routing traces, and generating fabrication and assembly documentation. The role involves close collaboration with electrical engineers and cross-functional teams to review designs, perform design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) checks, and troubleshoot issues during prototype and production phases. The engineer will also maintain design libraries, adhere to industry standards and customer specifications, and support continuous improvement of PCB design processes and workflows. This is a full-time remote role.
Qualifications
- Circuit Design and Analog design skills, with experience translating system requirements into detailed schematics.
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, including signal integrity, power distribution, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Board Layout expertise, including layer stack-up design, component placement, routing strategies, and DFM/DFT best practices.
- Radio Frequency (RF) design capabilities, such as RF layout techniques, impedance control, and high-frequency signal routing.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar professional PCB CAD tools, including library management and documentation generation.
- Experience working with PCB manufacturers and assemblers, and familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IPC).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in PCB design.
