Script Writer- Content - Tamil (Gyan Tv)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Script Writer – Content – Tamil (Gyan TV) based in India.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Tamil content writer passionate about short-form digital storytelling and educational entertainment. You will create compelling video scripts designed to capture attention, simplify complex ideas, and keep audiences engaged. The role covers topics including finance, careers, business, English, AI, social media, and government-related content. You will shape hooks, narratives, pacing, information flow, and calls to action for highly engaging short-form videos. You’ll work closely with creative and production teams to turn ideas into polished, production-ready content. The role also involves using audience insights, trends, performance data, and AI tools to continuously improve content. This is a fast-paced, creative environment where strong storytelling and meaningful regional-language content can have a direct impact on how audiences learn and engage online.

Accountabilities:

• Write engaging scripts for short-form learning, edutainment, and digital video content in Tamil.
• Develop compelling hooks, narrative structures, pacing, information flow, and calls to action that encourage viewer retention.
• Transform complex or technical subjects into clear, accessible, conversational, and engaging stories.
• Create content across areas such as finance, careers, business, English, AI, social media, and government.
• Develop episodic formats, recurring content series, and repeatable content concepts that can build sustained audience engagement.
• Research topics thoroughly and fact-check information to ensure scripts are accurate, relevant, and trustworthy.
• Adapt content based on audience insights, emerging trends, language preferences, and performance data.
• Collaborate with creative and production teams to ensure scripts are practical, visually adaptable, and production-friendly.
• Use AI tools responsibly for research, ideation, drafting, and refinement while maintaining originality, accuracy, and editorial judgment.
• Approach every script with a performance mindset, creating content that makes viewers stop scrolling, watch, understand, and continue watching.

Requirements:

• Experience writing short-form video content, digital media, YouTube, Reels, edutainment, creator-led content, or similar formats.
• Strong understanding of hooks, audience retention, pacing, storytelling, and digital engagement.
• Excellent research and fact-checking abilities, with the capacity to simplify complex information without losing accuracy.
• Ability to write conversational, audience-focused scripts rather than traditional articles or blog content.
• Native-level or strong professional proficiency in Tamil.
• Good understanding of how written scripts translate into visual storytelling and video production.
• Comfortable using AI tools for content research, ideation, drafting, and refinement.
• Strong creative judgment, attention to detail, and a high level of ownership.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with creative and production teams.
• Curiosity about digital trends, regional-language audiences, learning content, and emerging content formats.
