Job Description

Overview SSOE Group is currently seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our team in Mumbai. The Designer may support both small and large scale industrial projects using either Plant3D or Revit to provide value based design for our world-class clients.

As part of an international design firm and working with a USA based team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on US based projects and communicate regularly with international colleagues.

An ideal candidate will have previous A/E experience and chemical plant experience as well as a passion for collaboration and team work. Due to the international team structure, the ability to communicate will be key to success. The time zone differential between the U.S. and Mumbai will drive the need for good communication by phone (preferred), email and acceptance of flexible working hours.

  • Participate in internal and client meetings, present design progress, document action items, and ensure timely follow-up on design changes.
  • Review and check drawings, equipment submittals, and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and direct the work of designers assigned to the project, including reviewing portions of completed work for quality and consistency.
  • Research technical solutions, evaluate design alternatives, and document recommendations for project leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project execution and alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain productive client relationships through regular interaction and technical support.
  • Take ownership of assigned project tasks with guidance on complex or unusual engineering challenges.
  • Serve as a Job Captain or lead designer for single-discipline projects when required.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills while working with geographically distributed project teams.
  • Participate in professional development and leadership training opportunities to enhance supervisory and project management capabilities.

Qualifications What will you bring?
