Job Description
The Company
Lifeblood is an eCommerce growth and creative studio in Cornwall; we’re on a mission to build the UK’s most effective team and system for profitably growing DTC brands.
The Role
We’re looking for a Graphic & Motion Designer to design static ads, bring them to life with motion, and handle carousels, retouching and brand assets.
Most of your week will be in Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. You don’t need years behind you. What we’re after is someone with a decent foundation, a keen eye for good design and the appetite to get better quickly. You’ll work directly with the Head of Creative Studio, and day to day you’ll be alongside our videographer, the strategists and the paid media team.
Deliverables
- Design paid social static ads. That means turning product shots, UGC and brand imagery into ads that stop the scroll: strong hooks, clear hierarchy, good type and a clear call to action
- Add motion in After Effects: animated statics and type, product callouts, transitions and end cards for our video ads
- Turn one concept into many variations. Different hooks, images, layouts and formats (9:16, 1:1, 4:5) so the paid team has plenty to test
- Cut out, retouch and tidy up product imagery so it’s ad-ready
- Design carousels and simple brand assets
- Use AI image and video tools (Higgsfield, Midjourney, Nano Banana, Seedance, Kling, Veo) where they help: generating product imagery, backgrounds or scenes we couldn’t shoot, then finishing it in Photoshop or After Effects so it’s fit for a client
- Take performance feedback and turn it into new versions and hooks without much fuss
- Keep project files, exports and naming tidy so everyone can find what they need
- Learn new tools as we take them on. We adopt things quickly here.
What we’re looking for
- A portfolio with some graphic design and motion in it. Student work, freelance or personal projects are all fine.
- Good taste: you can tell when something looks right and when it doesn’t, and you notice good design everywhere, not just in ads
- Solid Photoshop and Illustrator skills and a feel for layout, hooks and what grabs attention in a feed
- Working knowledge of After Effects and a feel for timing
- Comfortable working to brand guidelines across different clients
- An eye for type, colour and composition
- Organised: you hit deadlines and don’t lose files
- Open to feedback and keen to improve
- Interested in social content and curious about why some ads work and others don’t
- Some knowledge of AI image and video tools (Higgsfield, Midjourney, Nano Banana, Seedance, Kling, Veo or similar), or a real keenness to learn them fast
Nice to have
- Basic editing in Premiere Pro
- Experience with Meta or TikTok ad formats
- Some camera experience, or you’re happy to help out on shoots
- A knack for writing hooks, headlines and on-image copy
- An understanding of e-commerce and DTC brands, even just as a customer
- Basic photography or product retouching
What you’ll get
- Mentoring from an experienced creative lead
- Real client work from week one, across a range of DTC brands
- Room to grow into a mid-weight design or motion role
- £26,000-£28,000 per annum
- Company pension and private medical insurance (top plan from Vitality Health)
- 25 days annual leave + all UK bank holidays
How to apply
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. It’s a junior role and we care more about attitude, taste and a good eye than a perfect CV.
