About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced puppy trainer and breeding assistant to help with whelping and raising litters, training, and transporting dogs to appointments. Experience in all three is ideal, but strength in one or two is welcome. Litters are raised in your home with their dam from birth through 8 weeks. The pace varies from quiet weeks to very busy stretches, so we’re looking for someone friendly, flexible, and happy to help.

Responsibilities

• Whelp litters in your home and care for the dam (feeding, brushing, grooming)
• Follow early development protocols (Puppy Culture, ENS, or similar), manage weaning, and keep the puppy area clean
• Socialize puppies and begin crate and potty training
• Return the dam to her guardian family after weaning
• Photograph puppies weekly, host FaceTime or Zoom calls with families, and keep daily records with regular updates to the breeder
• Teach foundational skills (name, sit, recall) with positive reinforcement and one-on-one time
• Assist in training prospective program dogs; optional board-and-train for puppies 8+ weeks
• Transport dogs to vet visits and other appointments

Requirements

• Professional or extensive hands-on dog experience
• Clean, safe home with space for whelping and a secure outdoor area
• Reliable transportation; must live withub an hour of Round Rock, Texas
• Available for the full 8 weeks per litter, including around-the-clock care during whelping
• Comfortable with photos, video calls, and regular communication

Preferred: Whelping experience, familiarity with Puppy Culture or ENS, and a background in dog training, vet care, animal husbandry, or board-and-train.

We Provide: A stipend for food and supplies, veterinary costs, and clear training protocols.

Schedule: Per-litter contract (about 8 weeks each), plus transport and training as needed. Litter timing varies through the year.
