Qualifications
Patient Care Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care in homes under the supervision of a nurse or physician
- Support daily activities including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs, report changes in health status
- Maintain patient comfort, hygiene, and safety in the home
- Assist with medication reminders and guided exercises
- Offer emotional support and companionship
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards during visits
Note: Care assistants perform scheduled home visits only and are not allowed to stay overnight in the patient’s residence.
