AI Engineer

The Role

• Design, build, and run AI agents that automate work across digital commerce and transformation programs.
• Take a business workflow, identify where an agent can genuinely help, and deliver a governed agent for daily use.
• Build agents primarily on Microsoft’s AI platform, utilizing Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and Microsoft 365/Teams.
• Ensure agents clear the client’s Agentic Framework bar, including registration, authentication, authorization, observability, and certification.
• Own the end-to-end path from system prompt and tool schema through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Collaborate with program managers, data engineers, BI developers, solution architects, and security partners.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or equivalent experience.
• Four or more years of software engineering experience, with at least one year building production LLM-based or agent-based applications.
• Strong Python skills (C# or TypeScript a plus), fluency with asynchronous APIs, REST, GraphQL, JSON schemas, and Git workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft AI services (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search) and at least one of Copilot Studio, Semantic Kernel, or Microsoft Agent Framework.
• Practical retrieval-augmented generation experience covering chunking, embeddings, vector search, reranking, and retrieval evaluation.
• Demonstrated skill in prompt and context engineering, including system prompts, few-shot design, and model-specific behavior.
