Overview

A growing organization is seeking an experienced ERP application developer to assist with the stabilization and optimization of a recently deployed enterprise business platform. Following a successful rollout, the organization has identified performance and scalability challenges occurring under real-world production workloads and is looking for a technical specialist to help evaluate the current environment, improve custom development, and establish stronger engineering standards.

This consultant will partner with an internal development group to review existing configurations and customizations, enhance overall system performance, improve code quality, and recommend scalable development practices. The role requires a blend of hands-on development expertise, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coach team members on effective solution design and platform best practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing ERP customizations, integrations, and development work to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Investigate application performance issues and recommend solutions that improve responsiveness, stability, and scalability.
• Refactor and optimize legacy or inherited code to enhance maintainability and long-term supportability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide quality assurance guidance across development efforts.
• Collaborate with technical team members to standardize development methodologies and coding practices.
• Evaluate business processes and recommend automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
• Support the establishment of governance, documentation, and development standards for future enhancements.
• Provide technical mentorship and knowledge transfer to internal resources.

Required Experience

• Extensive experience developing and supporting solutions within a modern ERP ecosystem.
• Strong background in customization, troubleshooting, debugging, and application optimization.
• Demonstrated experience resolving performance issues within large-scale production environments.
• Expertise performing code reviews and implementing development best practices.
• Experience working closely with internal technical teams in a collaborative consulting capacity.
• Ability to assess existing development approaches and recommend practical improvements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to varying audiences.

Preferred Background

• Experience supporting organizations shortly after major ERP deployments or system upgrades.
• History of improving or modernizing solutions developed by multiple contributors over time.
• Exposure to mentoring developers and promoting engineering excellence within technical teams.
• Experience identifying process efficiencies and implementing automation initiatives.
