M Group Water are now looking for an Assistant Estimator to join the team due to growth within the Water Commercial division.

This Assistant Estimator role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing? (no more than 100 words)

• Support the preparation of cost estimates, pricing submissions and tender returns for infrastructure projects.
• Review tender documents and assist in developing robust estimating assumptions.
• Produce bid documentation including risk and opportunity registers, cost build-ups and governance submissions.
• Work with Commercial, Procurement, Finance and Operational teams to obtain and validate pricing information.
• Support supply chain enquiries, subcontractor tender assessments and supplier engagement activities.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, bid libraries and benchmarking data to support future opportunities and project delivery.

What you’ll bring (5 bullets - no more than 75 words)

• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
• Preferable to have worked in a construction, water services, gas, utilities or infrastructure environment, ideally within an Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Management type environment.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and estimating systems desirable.
• Able to work in a Hybrid set-up – Work from home and in an office.
