Software Engineer II # 26-25177

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Location: Remote - Pacific Time Zone preferred

Key Project:

• Candidate Profile: Seeking a Software Engineer with foundational experience or exposure to Machine Learning (ML).
• Core Product Focus: Supporting a product feature across social media platforms. Will manage and maintain ML classification models, monitor data quality, analyze dataset integrity, and investigate performance regressions. Will also identify system gaps to prevent invalid configurations from being onboarded and ensure operational excellence by maintaining quality guardrails across ML pipelines.

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support time-bound engineering initiatives. The individual in this role will contribute to defined project deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional partners to build, improve, and maintain software systems.

 

Responsibilities:

• Deliver well-scoped software enhancements and features aligned to project goals and timelines.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, data, security) to support execution of defined deliverables.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions.
• Contribute to operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response support, and performance improvements as needed.

 

Must-Have Hard Skills:

1. Experience with developing evaluated machine learning models, particularly classification models
2. Experience building or supporting ML systems in production environments
3. 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
4. Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar).
5. Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software.
6. Experience with common development practices and tools (e.g., version control, code review, CI/CD).
7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

1. Experience at BigTech would be preferred. Companies such as Google, Apple, Uber, Netflix, etc.

 

Required YOE: 3  Years

Degree/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

 

Interview Process: 2 Rounds [Python Technical + Behavioral/People Perspective]
