Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will focus on building and operating AI-driven systems that support internal engineering productivity and safe, scalable automation. You will partner closely with engineering teams to develop production agents, improve retrieval and context capabilities, and ensure the platform performs reliably in a fast-moving environment. The work will span model usage, system observability, evaluation, and operational safeguards to help drive measurable outcomes across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $196,984 – $222,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production AI agents, including an autonomous coding agent
• Develop the retrieval and context layer for the AI platform, integrating with Snowflake and internal documentation sources
• Extend the internal MCP server with shared skills and tools for team reuse
• Own evaluation processes and build metrics to assess agent performance
• Drive cost and latency efficiency by optimizing model usage and tracking expenses
• Harden agents against security vulnerabilities and ensure safe operations
• Instrument agents for quick diagnostics and participate in on-call duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of professional software development experience, owning production services end to end
• 1+ year of experience shipping LLM-powered features or agents to production
• Experience building retrieval systems, including embeddings and vector search
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Ruby, with comfort in a polyglot codebase
• Experience with major cloud platforms, AWS preferred, CI/CD, and observability tooling
• Proven track record of measuring project outcomes through evals or A/B tests
