Candidate Profile
The right candidate is a data-savvy Product Owner who can operate between business strategy and technical delivery. They are comfortable discussing Databricks, medallion architecture, data quality, semantic models, and data governance, but they do not try to be the architect. They are disciplined about intake, ruthless about prioritization, strong with stakeholders, and committed to building reusable enterprise data products instead of one-off solutions.
They should be able to say “not yet,” “needs discovery,” or “this belongs in a reusable data product” without creating friction. They should be comfortable working with senior leaders, domain product teams, technical teams, vendors, and business data owners to turn demand into governed, scalable, business-ready data capabilities.
MUST HAVES:
- 5+ years in product ownership or data product management
- Experience with data engineering, BI, or data platform teams
- Strong knowledge of data platforms, pipelines, and governed consumption
- Agile backlog management (epics, stories, acceptance criteria)
- Stakeholder alignment across business and technology leaders
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own roadmap for enterprise data platform and reusable data products
- Lead intake, discovery, and prioritization for platform and data product demand
- Manage backlog, user stories, and acceptance criteria tied to business outcomes
- Drive reuse, governance, quality, lineage, and documentation standards
- Partner with delivery teams and vendors to track risks, dependencies, and handoffs
- Support BI and analytics consumption (semantic models and certified metrics)
- Maintain delivery discipline through refinement, demos, release notes, and closeout
