Job Description
Help us make a real difference to our customers and communities
Are you approachable, organised and passionate about providing a great service to customers?
We’re looking for a Housing Support Assistant to join our Housing Services team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.
This is a varied, customer-focused role where you’ll help our teams deliver high-quality housing services and ensure our customers receive the right advice and support when they need it. From helping customers sustain their tenancies to responding to enquiries and working with colleagues and partner agencies, you’ll play an important part in helping us achieve positive outcomes for our customers.
What will you be doing?
No two days will necessarily look the same. You’ll work across a range of frontline and back-office housing activities, providing a friendly, professional and responsive service.
You’ll:
- Provide advice and guidance to customers, helping them to understand and sustain their tenancies.
- Respond to customers with empathy and sensitivity, including when they may be facing difficult circumstances.
- Support the delivery of housing services that reflect our customers’ needs and priorities.
- Help ensure our neighbourhoods and services meet the standards our customers expect.
- Keep clear and accurate customer records using our CX/CRM systems.
- Work closely with colleagues across Community Housing and with external agencies to help achieve the right outcomes for customers.
- Get involved in customer engagement activities and new initiatives that help us improve our services.
- Maintain accurate records and follow relevant financial, health and safety and safeguarding processes.
What are we looking for?
Above all, you’ll understand the importance of putting the person first. You’ll be comfortable speaking with a wide range of customers, able to listen carefully and communicate clearly, and know how important it is to treat everyone with respect.
You’ll also bring:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload and support a busy team.
- Practical knowledge of housing legislation.
- Good IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office applications.
- An understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining accurate records.
- GCSE, NVQ or equivalent level knowledge gained through qualifications or relevant experience.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends where required.
Why join us?
At Community Housing, our values are at the heart of how we work. We believe in treating our customers and colleagues with RESPECT, doing what we say we will do, seeing the person first and working together to achieve the right outcomes.
If you’re someone who enjoys helping people, builds positive relationships and wants to play a part in delivering services that make a difference to customers and their communities, we’d love to hear from you.
