About Our Client:

SafelyYou operates in the senior living care industry, focusing on enhancing safety and person-centered care through advanced AI, innovative hardware, and remote clinical expertise. Originating from UC Berkeley’s Artificial Intelligence Research Lab, the organization addresses critical issues such as resident falls, emergency visits, staffing challenges, length of stay, and operational costs in senior living communities, aiming to improve resident outcomes while supporting financial objectives. Recognized for innovation, the organization has received notable industry acknowledgments for its impactful fall detection technologies.

About the Opportunity:

The LEAD PRODUCT MANAGER, HARDWARE & SENSING is responsible for defining and leading the product strategy for the next generation of sensing and response hardware within the organization. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a multi-generation hardware roadmap based on customer evidence and portfolio priorities.
  • Lead business case development before new product introductions, including BOM, capital cost, margin, payback, and IRR analyses.
  • Translate cross-team requirements into hardware and edge-compute specifications, addressing privacy, design, and acceptance factors.
  • Select sensing modalities in collaboration with AI and intelligence teams to streamline platforms and reduce SKU complexity.
  • Manage stage-gate processes from concept through engineering validation and production, incorporating life-safety certifications from the outset.
  • Oversee product launch readiness, operational support, and end-of-life transitions with relevant teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years in product management with experience taking connected hardware from concept to mass production.
  • Strong skills in business modeling related to BOM, margins, and ROI/IRR.
  • Working knowledge of hardware architecture including SoCs, edge AI compute, and sensors.
  • Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers during new product introduction and scaling.
  • Proven delivery of both off-the-shelf integrated and custom hardware products.
  • Preferred experience with life-safety or regulated devices, non-optical sensing technologies, or senior living/building systems.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • Salary Range: $220,000 - $240,000 USD / $200,000 - $220,000 CAD commensurate with experience

Benefits & Perks:

  • Fully remote work arrangement
  • Competitive salary and benefits including fully paid employee premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) program
  • Monthly stipends for education, well-being, and work-from-home expenses
  • Non-accrual paid time off
