Job Description
Compliance Assistant
Are you an organised administrator who enjoys helping customers and making sure things get done?
We’re looking for a Compliance Assistant to join our Building Safety Compliance Team. This is an important role where great administration and great customer service come together to help keep our customers, colleagues and communities safe.
You don’t necessarily need to be a compliance expert. What’s really important is that you’re organised, comfortable using IT systems, a confident communicator and able to provide a helpful and reassuring service to customers. Experience within a property compliance environment would be an advantage, but is desirable rather than essential.
What will you be doing?
You’ll support our team to make sure essential compliance activities are organised, monitored and accurately recorded.
A big part of your role will be communicating with customers, contractors and colleagues. You’ll help arrange access for works, respond to enquiries and make sure customers receive clear and helpful information. Some customers may be dealing with difficult or stressful circumstances, so being able to listen, communicate sensitively and remain calm will be important.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Being a helpful point of contact for customer enquiries, whether by phone or in person
- Liaising with customers and contractors to schedule compliance works and arrange access
- Making sure customer enquiries and responses are accurately recorded
- Monitoring follow-on and remedial works to help ensure they are completed
- Keeping our systems, spreadsheets, records and safety information accurate and up to date
- Raising and closing orders and supporting the administration of invoices
- Supporting compliance contracts, meetings and specialist surveys
- Working closely with colleagues and contractors to resolve issues and keep work moving
- Providing general administrative support to the Building Safety Compliance Team.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who combines strong administration skills with a genuine commitment to providing a good customer experience.
You’ll be:
- Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Able to deal with customer enquiries in a sympathetic and tactful way
- Calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations
- Organised, efficient and able to manage and prioritise your workload
- Accurate and methodical, particularly when maintaining important records
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer systems
- A good written and verbal communicator
- Happy working independently while also being a supportive member of the wider team.
You’ll also need a full UK driving licence, and there may be a requirement to travel as part of the role.
Why this role matters
Behind every compliance check, appointment and record is a customer and their home.
By making sure appointments are arranged, enquiries are dealt with properly, records are accurate and important safety works are followed through, you’ll play a direct part in helping us provide safe homes and a reliable service for our customers.
If you’re a great administrator who puts customers at the heart of what you do, we’d love to hear from you.
